The Eating Disorder Coalition is a group of providers working with individuals diagnosed with eating disorders in the Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties region, including mental health therapists, dietitians, case managers, peers, and medical providers including doctors, nurses, etc. A large number of these providers serve OHP members; however, this coalition is not limited to that insurance. A small group of mental health clinicians had been meeting, and Salem Health dietitians had also started to explore resources in the area.
The two groups decided to join forces with some common goals:
• develop a network of providers who are familiar with and trust each other's work
• grow skills in treating eating disorders
• increase the number of providers with confidence in treating eating disorders
The Coalition now meets on the fourth Thursday of each month in the Support Group Room in Building D of Salem Health (890 Oak Street SE, Salem 97309) from 8:00-9:30am. Park on the first or second level of the parking garage. The Support Group Room is along the back hallway closest to the river side of the building. There are signs to direct your way.
